What a great event we had last night. The turnout was excellent (120 people), the food was good, the price was right and everyone seemed to enjoy our first Feast with Friends speaker. Many thanks to everyone that helped make the evening a success. Remember that July 11th is our next open community dinner and our speaker will be Bob Haywood from the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI). PARI is in our own backyard and only a handful of similar facilities exist around the world. Bob comes to us with an extensive background and will be another enjoyable speaker. Their will also be a brief presentation about an up and coming community program being held at PARI this fall. So go ahead and start recruiting your friends to join us.
Also, Paul has been doing some mallet research and he has found a local source for the Wood Mallets brand. You can go to woodmallets.com to view your choices of types of mallets. The Highlands Country Club is now sourcing the mallets from New Zealand. If we order less than eight mallets the price is only slightly less than if you were to order them yourself online. But if we can order 8 or more we would get a 20% discount, which is significant. If you have any questions concerning the types of mallets, pricing or would like to place an order just contact Paul. He already has orders for four mallets and is trying to place the first order by the end of next week.
